MEET SIMON LEY, FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL
To Simon, the role of "Principal" is a hands-on endeavor. He oversees the work and ultimate outcomes on each and every Ley LTD project.
Simon honed his eye and craftsmanship while working for a family friend’s construction company near his hometown of Brighton, England. After college, where Simon studied graphic design, he took a couple of years to sail around the world, dropping anchor along the way. During this time, he enjoyed the beauty and interplay between nature and architecture in different parts of the world. Simon was compelled to drop anchor for the last time when the opportunity arose to build multi-million-dollar homes in Miami for Wallace Tutt, the interior designer and developer known for his celebrity clientele that included Cher and Gianni Versace. Simon relocated to Washington, D.C. when Tutt recruited him to lead the development of a 30,000 square foot warehouse on the 14th Street corridor. Simon also led the renovation of Wallace's personal home in the Kalorama neighborhood. It was also during this time that Simon was selected as part of the DC cast for the hit HGTV show, Designed To Sell.
Today, Simon continues to pour passion and 25+ years of experience into every home that Ley LTD has the opportunity to build.
MEET CHRISTIAN BEST, PROJECT MANAGER
Christian is a craftsman, builder, and anchor for each Ley LTD project. He grew up working alongside his brother for their father’s construction company in the south of England. After graduating from BHASVIK College in Brighton, England, Christian set sail in search of warmer weather in Miami. He and Simon met while working for Wallace Tutt on the renovation of Cher’s waterfront home on La Gorce Island. Today, nearly 30 years later, Simon and Christian function as a British version of The Odd Couple, complete with their own unique style of communication.
